Uniflow Locomotive: An experimental locomotive
which worked on the South Eastern Railway between 1849 and
1852 using a large, externally piped exhaust system. It did
not find acceptance and was not used elsewhere.
Unit Trainer: An aviator designated to instruct in
areas of special training to assist in unit training
programs and achieve established training goals.
Upper Deck: The highest deck extending unbroken
from bow to stern.
Unseaworthiness: The state or condition of a
vessel when it is not in a proper state of maintenance, or
if the loading equipment or crew, or in any other respect is
not ready to encounter the ordinary perils of sea. |
