Wale: A thick strake of planking, or a belt of
thick planking strakes, located along the side of a vessel
for the purpose of girding and stiffening the outer hull.
Weather Forecaster: Any person approved by the
USAF or Navy Air Weather Services or by the National Weather
Service to forecast aviation weather for flight planning.
Witness: Person who comes to court and swears
under oath to give truthful evidence.
Wrongful Death Statutes: Laws giving the family
members of a deceased a cause of action if the death of
their loved one resulted because of another’s negligence.
